When Does Giving Stop?

Luke 6:38 "Give and it will be given to you."

We "give" with open hearts. Giving involves trust. Sometimes a person or organization takes advantage and destroys that trust. Once trust is broken, the giving stops. Most often the receiver is trustworthy. We give love, time, money, and material things. But where does the giving end?

For example, we give to the Missions fund at our church. We trust the church to pass on our giving to its supported organizations. One organization serves children in another country with education and food. Some would say that's where the giving ends. But does it? The child grows up and leaves school. They are better off then when they entered the program provided. That child now serves their local community. They gift their time, money, and material things to those they trust. Perhaps they give back to the organization that helped them. The cycle continues. Giving leads to infinite giving.

When we give to others, does it return to us? Yes! In countless ways. Be a giver. watch for the return. It may not show up in your pocketbook, but it will come - unexpected, and in boundless, innumerable ways.
